A Study on the Comparative Effects of the Economic Classes for the Size of Interfamily Income Transfer in Korea

Abstract
This Study is an emprical research to analyze the comparative effects of the diverse economic classes for the size of income transfer. Economic classes are divided into the followings - low 1st class, 2nd class, middle class, 4th class, high 5th class - in terms of the parent¢¥s wealth level.
Followings are the results in detail, which are obtained by the procedure of multiple regression.
First, the parent group of 2nd class got the most sizable benefit from their children, followed by the group of middle class. The parent group of high 5th class has the least, followed by the group of low 1st class.
Second, interfamily transfer incomes contributed older people¢¥ income. That amount is 32% of the mean income of the sample. Especially, in terms of low 1st class and 2nd class, interfamily transfer incomes are over 50% of gross income.
